The first step is to download our App from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store depending on the mobile device you have.
The next step is to enter your email address used for your CTB account in the text box on the login page and then click the green Sign in button.
The first time you attempt to sign-in to CTB using the new system you will not be recognized as a verified user. The system will use your email
address to ensure you are a user of the system and send you a QR code to verify your email address. You should receive the email within a short time. If you haven't
it in that timeframe then check your spam or junk folders. If not there give it a minute or so more. Do not keep mashing the button. You may only have
3 active QR requests active in any 15 minute period.
Note that we tell you the email was sent if it's a bogus email address (we don't actually send it in that case). We do this to prevent people trying to guess user
email addresses in the system.
Next go to your mobile device (usually a smart phone) and start the CTB App (it may already be open, no worries). When it starts you should see the following screen
(or something similar — we're always adding stuff):

Tap the blue Scan your QR code button and you are now logged into the App and the backend has been notified that you have validated the mobile device.
You only have 5 minutes or so to scan it before you have to generate a new code.
The emailed code email will look like this:

Once scanned you will be able to use both the mobile App and log into CTB without generating or scanning QR codes. If fact, to log in after
scanning the QR code you just press the green Sign in button again with your email address still in the text box. This will cause a
notification (alert) to be sent to your newly registered device. It looks like this:

If the App is on your lock screen as shown here or the home screen then tap the notification which will bring up the following screen:

Assuming it was you trying to log in, tap the Allow button and your biometric (Face ID or fingerprint touch) will be verified. If all
good and the log in is authorized then after about a second or so your cybertoolbelt.com login screen will be replaced by the main CTB dashboard.
Registering other devices
You can use either the CTB sign-in program or the App to register additional devices to use the CTB features of our App or verify sign-ins. For
example you could have an iPad as a secondary device. When the sign-in notification is sent out it is sent to all of your registered devices.
You can register new devices two ways: Either by tapping the Send new QR code button in the App (and reading the code with the additional new device);
or, by clicking the Register a new device or one that has lost access link on the log-in screen. You can also go to your profile screen on the CTB web
site and click the register device link.
When you click the register device link on the sign in page the following dialog box will be displayed.

Click the green Register Device button to start the process.
Whichever method you use, both will result in a QR code being emailed to you. You scan the QR code on the new device within our App. Note that you can only scan
the QR code successfully once.
What if you can't use your mobile device?
There are times when you can't use your mobile device at work. Say that you work for the NSA or someone like them. They have a strict
no-mobile device policy. That's why there is a link on the sign-in page that says: Don't have access to a mobile device? that you can use. Clicking
on it brings up the following dialog box:

You should click the green Send OTP button to have a One Time Password sent to you by email. That email will look something like this:

The bold text is the password. Once you click the Send OTP button the following the dialog box will be displayed after the email is sent to you:

Enter the password in the text box and click the green Validate password button. Assuming it's valid you will be logged into CTB and the
main dashboard will be displayed.
Since we've gone passwordless those of you who do not have access to the email associated with the account should contact us at support@cybertoolbelt.com
with the email address for the actual user of the account and we will update the database to recognize that email address as an alias for the account.
